I went to the U from 1974-1978, graduating with a BS degree in Sociology. I had a great time there, I spent a lot of time in the Student Union for lunch & going to stomps on Fri. nights. I loved doing my own schedule, I never took a class until 9:55 unless I had to. I also traveled quite a bit in my trusty 74 Honda Civic, driving to Moab countless times, California twice, to Vancouver, Canada, Lake Powel & Jackson Hole, a lot. Flew to Mazatlan twice. I had great times with my friends doing fun & sometimes mildly crazy things. I love dancing, so we went to bars often for disco and country swing. I also did a lot of hiking, rock hounding, mt. biking, skiing & jogging.

I got my Master's Degree in Social Work in '82 & moved to Colorado for my first post Master's job, at Spanish Peaks Mental Health. I moved back to Utah in '84 to work for SLCSD in Special Ed. As of today I've practiced in multiple places for 40 years, such as at the Neurology, Learning & Behavior Center, Family Counseling Center, as a School Social Worker (Middle Schools & Elementary), Highland Specialty Clinics, etc., and am currently working part-time in my private practice.

I got married in '84 & had 2 boys. I got divorced in 2001 (been there, done that) & spent almost all my spare time with my kids, traveling to San Diego, L.A., the Bahamas & of course Moab. For someone who wasn't sure I'd want kids, I turned out to be very maternal. My sons are 35 and 30 now and they & their soul-mate wives are my favorite people to be around. I'm so proud of the kind, liberal, feminist, fun men & husbands they are.

My Skyline homies and I try to get together once a month for lunch or dinner but it usually ends up being every 2-3 months. I hope most of the other people who went to Skyline will come to the reunion. I am looking forward to catching up with people I knew pretty well along with getting to know more about people I just said hi to. There were so many of us.

School Story

I really liked going to highschool at Skyline, I liked eating in the courtyard, hanging out with friends, ditching seminary to go to Dees or Marie Callenders. It was fun being in Pep Club. I liked walking around the school before it started, checking out guys and saying hi to friendly people. The classes I enjoyed the most were art and auto maintenance - unbelievably that was the first year they allowed girls to learn anything mechanical on cars! That came in really handy getting us out of a pretty sketchy situation one night as some jocks from East who tried to trap us at one of their houses had undone the points and plugs on my car, but we knew how to put them back! We showed them!

Hi Keli, I'm so happy to see you're coming to the reunion dinner! So many years and memories, including 7th ward stuff with Becky Cannon and Kristy Dalton, etc. You've always been so beautiful inside and outside. See you at the reunion!

I hope a lot of our classmates come to the reunion. It's been 50 years since we graduated! Life definitely has its ups and downs, no one is immune to that. It'll be great to share memories of Skyline years and where we went from there.

Linner has been one of my best friends at Skyline and since. She's still funny as hell. I'm so glad we have been able to stay in touch and get together, although not nearly as often as we'd like. She's one of the strongest people I know. She's been through a lot and has kept going no matter what.
