Stephen R. Shuput

Vince had a heart of gold. I met him playing football. He was very friendly and affable. I saw him at our 50th reunion and he was using a walker, about to start kidney dialysis. I was sorry to hear he passed last year.

Paul Jannuzzi (Jannuzzi)

I just learned of Vince's passing from Shuput's comment.  My condolences to his family.

My first job at 13 was washing dishes at Romeo's Ristorante Italiano, Vince's parent's Italian cafe.  We had a blast!  Another salt-of-the-earth Skyliner ('73), Steve Patrick, worked there, too.  Steve had an old convertible from the late 40s and Vince, Steve and I cruised all over Salt Lake in the wee hours after work.

Our paths diverged in high school though we maintained a strong connection from junior high.  Vince was kind, original and very funny.  Yes, he loved football, but he didn't have much of a killer's instinct.  Vince was loveable.  Senior year we were both nearly booted out for an assembly prank.  That was the last interaction I had with him until the reunion.

I was fortunate to have known Vince as a kid and I remain forever thankful for the time I had with him.
