I attended U of U, where I received a degree in Chemical Engineering. I went to work in the oil industry as a Petroleum Engineer in Southern Illinois and West Texas.

I hated Texas, but loved the oil business, so I accepted a job as a petroleum engineer with Continental Illinois National Bank in Denver, Colorado. Continental lent oil companies to foster oil field development. I was transferred to Chicago at which time I received an MBA from the University of Chicago, which allowed me to become an energy lender. Upon graduation, I returned to Denver Colorado where I lived ever since.

One day in PE, I intercepted a pass during a football game. Being an average athlete, I was so excited I ran like hell the wrong way. Wally Chambers tackled me before I scored a touchdown for the opposing team.
