School Story

Wednesday Annual get-togethers. Enough said!

Worked for the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) 1974 - 1978, then North to Alaska where I was in the insurance industry for 2-years in Anchorage with my former father-in-law. In 1980 came back to the UPRR in operations throughout the western US, ending up in Omaha, NE. Took an early retirement in 1991 and moved back to Sacramento, CA working for the Federal Railroad Administration & California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), ultimately managing statewide rail safety operations for the CPUC. In 2008 joined Veolia Transportation International as VP Safety & Regulatory affairs overseeing rail safety operations in Los Angeles, Boston, Austin, Miami, New Orleans, Dublin, Paris, Stockholm,
Amsterdam, Dusseldorf & Berlin. In 2011 received a grant from US Department of Transportation to conduct research at the Volpe Institute for Transportation Research at MIT, Cambridge, MA, exploring the effects of distraction in major rail accidents. The resulting training tools were ultimately utilized by Amtrak and several European rail operators (See: ge-safety.com). Since 2014 have conducted heavy-civil engineering safety oversight for a variety of Northern California contractors as well as consultation with a variety of commercial insurance providers.
My wife Ofelia and I reside happily in Vallejo, Ca. just north of San Francisco, enjoy scuba diving, trips to the beaches, and of course our beautiful children
