Drew loved music.  When we were young in the 1960's he knew every Beatles song and melody by heart.  He gave several solo musical performances during a couple of our assemblies in the auditorium.  In grade school we played together in the dense stands of oak brush above Wasatch Boulevard, before all that land was developed into houses.  Unfortunately, I rarely saw him after that time.  Drew was killed tragically not long after we graduated from high school when he was struck by a car while walking or hitchiking along a road at night.

Thank you Wally for posting. I barely knew Drew - we spent one afternoon together with a mutual friend - but I remember he was an accomplished pianist. I had been wondering what happened to him. Such a shame to lose him so young.

Drew and I connected over having the same name. He was always very friendly, and when I was brand new in school--not knowing anyone--he came up to me and made some sort of silly joke about our name. And that made all the difference. We were good friends after that, and even when we sort of went different directions when we got to Skyline he always went out of his way to say "Hi Drew!" whenever he saw me. So sad that his life was cut short.

I knew Drew from elementary school up through high school.  He was a great friend and he was so funny.  I loved being around him.  He had such a stellar life ahead of him, and it's tragic how it ended all too soon.

My son became friends with Drew's nephew while he was at Skyline, and he reminded me so much of Drew is was kind of scary.  It was nice to make that connection again.

Drew and I crossed paths in Richfield, UT. He was a representive for a press supply company. He provided the plates, chemicals, film, etc for the Richfield Reaper, which is where my two papers were printed. He loved driving is Mini, said he wore two out over the years. One of the few people from our "class" that I had regular contact. Good Guy!
