Dave was an awesome man, our friendship grew later in life. If I could describe my view of Dave it would be this, his wheelchair did not define him. I found Dave to be kind and generous, he was a family man that enjoyed breakfast at any one of many breakfast establishments around town, he enjoyed shooting,a good fire, his wife and daughters and his church callings. Simply put, Dave was awesome all through his life and after his accident I know the challenges he faced. Some great stories I would tell anyone, if you ask.

I'm really going to miss Dave at the Reunion this year. He has always been so good at welcoming and rallying many of the athletes from the good old days. He definitely was one of my mentors. I sat next to him in Spanish class at Wasatch Jr.  One day I got a new shirt and he told me he really liked it and I felt like a million bucks. Dave was so good at making people comfortable. I think his best sport was Baseball and I do think of him when I watch my grandson play.

I was so sad when Dave passed, he overcame so much in his  short life!  We were good friends at school but later I would see him and I really enjoyed him.  We would laugh and reminisce.  He was quite the character.  He was everybody's friend.  I love  you Dave, rest in peace!

I was fortunate to stay in touch with Dave during our adult lives. He was a lobbyist for one of the agencies related to the fire department I served. I miss him and I miss the breakfasts that he would organize with Vince Raia, Rob Jeppson, Paul Swenson and others. He was such a good person and friend.

Dave was a great friend.  We were roommates at Snow College. We would drive up to SLC on the weekends in my little VW beetle. Squeezing in as many as we could fit. I had to squeeze in being 6'9". Lots of fun activities and studies. He played football and was the disjocky for the school radio show. He also wrote articles for the newspaper.  I ofcourse played basketball. I went on to play basketball at Michigan State University playing with Earvin Magic Johnson. We lived in a little attic apartment where I couldn't even stand up straight our 2nd year. Many great times. Dave would end up working at Hercules where I worked. Our friendship continued throughout the years.  I had a car accident which left me paralyzed in 2022. I was going to look him up, and was sad to find that he had passed away. RIP my good friend.

Dave (Nic as I called him) was always fun to be around. we both hung out in the gym and weight room, while he played football, basketball and baseball, none of which I played we alway got a long well. I really got to know Nic when he was a working as a lobbyist at the Capitol. In my capasity as the Executive Director of the Captol Preservation Board, I had to approve the various events. Every year he would sponsor or orgnize an event. I was alway happy when he would come rolling in, in his wheelchair and say in his own unique way "How the heck are you Dave". We would then talk a little about the old days. I have to say Nic was never one who complained about the loss of his legs, and he never let it get in his way. I alway admired that. I was really sad to learn of his passing and was hoping he was going to be at the reunion.

Dave was so extremely nice.  I remember at the last reunion he came up and wanted to know all about me and my family and we spent the time talking.  His struggles in life never came up.  He was thoughtful, and happy, and a dear friend.  I'm grateful to have known him.

I can only agree with what all have said here. Nic was a great guy. So funny and engaging. He was able to draw people out of their shell and get them thinking.
